The “only” issue that “may” present itself when using 38 Specials in the .357 Mag cylinder is the potential “carbon ring” formed at the mouth area of the shorter case in the longer .357 Mag cylinder! No danger.....merely “may” need a little more attention paid to the area in the cylinder during cleaning.I see the Speed Six as something of interest to the hard core Ruger collector. As a concealed carry gun, the SP101 is better suited. I have a Security Six 357 and a Service SIx 38 Special. The 357 is just an exceptional firearm (with its action job). The 38 Special was bought in like new condition and will never see enough rounds to wear it down.
