It seems this has been changed shortly after the biotech release and honestly it's not good before or after. Before you could get a child to maximum learning factor, then put them in deathrest so it didn't decrease, while they would continue to grow and advance. Now it seems like they don't get points toward growth stages while in deathrest, but still continue to age. Meaning they're missing ...Deathrest. Major cell instability is completely countered by ageless + non-senescent, 4 free points right there. You need an entirely separate deathrest setup per sanguophage colonist in your colony, and since the caskets count as a bed you generally want them in their own room so you don't get barracks penalties.
